Rain Sensors…..A cost saving device for every irrigation system
Rain sensors are a vital component that every sprinkler system should have. A rain sensor is an inexpensive tool that will not only save you money in the long run, but also protect one of the most precious resources of ours, water. How many times have you been driving down your street or along major thorough fare while it has been raining or just after a usual summer storm, and what do you see? The sprinklers in your neighbor’s yard, the medians on the roads or better yet, your own sprinkler are running. By simply installing a rain sensor on your sprinkler system, this sensor will capture the rain based on its settings and turn your system off. Once the rain sensor dry’s out, it will automatically re-activate the system and the timer will continue to operate and water your lawn as previously set. No need to do anything on your part. And most important, you will save money by not paying for water when your yard does not need it and you will be helping to conserve the precious resource of water. Broward County passed a new code in 1995 that says any new irrigation systems installed after that date are REQUIRED to have a rain sensor installed.
Now it’s your turn to do your part. If you do not have a sensor installed, feel free to contact us and we will provide you a quote to install one.
